Turkey - £20,000 raised

The Turkey – Syria Earthquake saw the loss of over 50,000 lives and left more than 1.5 million people homeless in Turkey alone.

In a time of severe shortages Humanitet sourced and provided 20 oxygen concentrators to Jalandhar Civil hospital India during the Covid-19 Delta variant pandemic.

Families across southern Lebanon and Beirut have been forced to flee their homes, with many now sheltering in public areas or temporary locations.

Humanitet volunteers on the ground are providing emergency aid including bottled water, diapers, food and hygiene supplies to displaced families and migrant workers, communities that often receive the least support during crises.

Since the devastating bombardment across Lebanon, families have been forced to flee their homes, leaving behind everything they knew as safety and normal life.

Many are now displaced and living in overcrowded schools, temporary shelters, cars, or out in the open. Basic necessities such as food, clean water, hygiene supplies, and safe shelter are becoming increasingly scarce.

We — Jaspreet and Kanwar — through our small, humble charity Humanitet, are raising emergency funds to support those displaced by the violence. With the help of trusted local networks, we will work to provide essential resources including food, shelter support, and hygiene kits to families who urgently need them.

We've been on the ground in Beirut, Lebanon providing marginalised communities that had to flee the south with basic necessities, such as hygiene kits, blankets and bedding, as well as water and food. Focusing on the families of migrant workers, specifically Bangladeshi families, that currently find shelter in abandoned houses and shops, we jump into the gap as a small NGO and act swiftly to improve the harsh living conditions of the families.
